I try and pray most days; sometimes in the form of writing and then speaking aloud, other times by sitting on my bed with my eyes closed and observing.
Hi John, good to hear from you. Yes, that’s the assertion made by non-dualist teaching - ‘consciousness first’. In this view, consciousness is not produced by the brain, rather, the world appears within consciousness
That is something I have only in recent years been able to study and grasp. Thank you, Patrick, for so clearly articulating such complex ideas.
If non-dualism is now our clearer perception of “reality,” what is “fundsmental” within our own consciousness? We certainly have our own consciousness, or it merely a representation or a subset of Universal Consciousness? All is One?
In non-dualism, consciousness is fundamental; separation is only an appearance. What we call ‘us’ is infinite consciousness appearing as a limited centre of experience
What a powerful moment of awareness. The disappearance of “my” feels more like insight than accident — a subtle shift from ownership to observation. Thank you for sharing this.
That “missing my” says so much. Perhaps it’s not a slip but a glimpse — a reminder that thoughts arise, but they are not ours to cling to. Beautifully expressed.
So then could our fundamental nature be consciousness?

Language is liberation and convolution! The simplicity of this is delightful, thank you
Thanks, Toni!
